This is an AE86 heavy episode. We rebuild the 20 Valve Blacktop 4A-GE for the Trueno and we get a surprise 86 visitor from Scotland.
Our friend Jimmy tracks down an RPS13/180SX which he has tried to own for nearly fifteen years.
This time two years ago, we had just ripped the Trueno apart to send the shell down for sandblasting. The 86 was being brought down to Ace Motor Factors in Newbawn co Wexford. We brought it down on a Saturday’s it was going to get blasted on a Tuesday morning. I ensured to get that day off of work to document the entire process; this was something I didn’t want to miss.
With so much going on with the vlogs, I sometimes forget to take bust out the camera and try to document whats going on.
Another Blog post about MR X! As we mentioned in a previous post I always come armed with a charged camera and a pocket full of cash. This place is always full of surprised and someday we will look back on guys like this and think about how crazy it was that he could import these cars from the other side of the world and dismantle these cars to save others.

So many of you have just watched our recent video about our BBQ from last year. Here are some of the photos we somehow managed to get while putting together the event.
We invite some of Ireland finest JDM and more to the annual Juicebox BBQ. We also invite a few friends over from the UK. Ireland has some of the best Japanese cars on the planet, but these days they are well hidden. So, every year we invite the friends we have met over the years down to a free event to eat some burgers and remind ourselves this country still has some of the coolest cars on the planet.
Most of you have already seen the Vlog we did on Gatebil 2018. When this site used to be all about articles and photo, I had much more time for writing. I’ve been shooting pictures for many years, and I’m not necessarily great at it, its just something I enjoy doing along with capturing whatever I can on video. Flip and I shot a lot of photos on this trip, and I felt like they needed to be put up onto the site. At the time of writing this, the Vlog has already gone live so these photos are just a slower recap of what could be described as the craziest Car event in Europe.
“This is my happy face in the happy place” these were the exact words Reuben shouted as we shot his pride and joy on the large bend at Ruskodgen. Back in 2013, we took a trip to Gatebil to see what the fuss was all about, and it blew our minds. It was like nothing we had ever seen before.
I never thought this day would come. After nearly ten years of writing articles about other peoples cars on this website, I never thought id be putting together a feature about one of my vehicles. Its a little strange to be honest, I’ve spent years travelling around Ireland trying to root out the better side of Irish car culture and its funny to see this little blue nugget getting some attention.
It almost seems like I never owned the Trueno, we got it in July 2017 and the car was actually in one piece until October of that year. We brought it to AE86 festival, Japfest and then stripped it down for blasting. Its been a shell longer than a car at this point and as of writing this, it’s a year and five months of metalwork with Barry.
AE86 festival Ireland, arguably the largest collection of AE86’s outside of Japan. Last year we hit Mondello for one of the biggest gatherings of square old Toyotas RWD Toyotas.
I had been meaning to shoot these cars for quite some time now. During the week when I’m working up in JDMDistro, I’ve been trying to make my way out to certain cars or groups of mates with interesting sheds. These lads are all local to where I’m living midweek so we managed to lock in a date after work last year and head for the hills.
