The Trueno gets the new roof fixed in place and Barry works his magic on the tedious bits of surrounding metal.

Back to actual AE86 progress, the snow has melted and Barry returns to replace the rusty roof on the Trueno. We also tear down the 20 valve bottom end and rebuild the rear brakes. This one is pretty interesting.
Over a very productive weekend, the AE86’s original engine gets swapped for something silly… Also the shop is now live, with a fresh batch of stickers and clothing. Check it out:
We get the AE86 shell back from blasting and it turns out the rust is a little worse than we expected. Not to fear, a new character enters the series…

The AE86 gets its final drive before being torn down for some much-needed restoration, we also take a look at our friend Rob’s import business.
Progress on the AE86: We start stripping the Truenos sound deadening and remove the cage. It’s not long before we are distracted by an upcoming drift event at a local racetrack.
After what would only be an unforgettable night at Daikoku, we rolled the dice and chanced our luck. It was late, we had been kicked out of Daikoku and there was one place left on the list I wanted to tick off before we went home.
Tokyo would be our final destination on the road trip, I was a little sad knowing this once in a lifetime adventure was coming to an end, lucky for us we were staying in Tokyo for three nights and had the Van which would give us the freedom to explore the surrounding area. Butterflies grew as we edged closer to the beast.
I didn’t want to miss this event. Last year Flip made the drive up and any of the photos I had seen from the day were amazing. The days of seeing Hondas out in the open have quickly disappeared. It seems the bad image the Honda had just over four years ago has vanished.
It was a somewhat dull and dreary morning in Utsunomiya but we were adamant to get to RX7 festival held at Tsukuba circuit which was roughly an hour away.
I love when something comes through the inbox that stands out. This lovely 2 door was freshly snapped by an up and coming young chap known as Dylan Walsh who’s just fifteen years of age and already has a great eye for cars and photography.
