A Quick Stop At Ebisu Circuit

Once we were good to go, we decided to make the drive to Ebisu, we knew we would get there late, but that’s where we would be meeting Chogo from CSS in Nihonmatsu, the town just down from the circuit where we met the guys before.

The Japanese countryside is such an enjoyable drive; we were constantly spotting stuff along the roads.

Flip looking super relaxed in the back now that we had space.

We always tried to take the B-roads and avoid tolls as it works out cheaper, and there’s just more cool stuff to look at.

Sleepy old towns…

With houses being consumed by nature, Id love to know just how many abandoned houses there is out there.

Always nice to spot a 34 in the wild!

An event had just finished at Ebisu; everyone was packing up. The parking lot outside has some cool machines.

When we got to Ebisu, they were closing up the circuit for the evening. There was some racing that day, judging by all the cars that getting loaded onto trailers. Flip had never seen the track, so we begged the lady at the main decks if we could pop down for a look, and she let us in!

As we were floating about, an Aussie lad who worked there must have thought we had broken in and tried to throw us out. It’s funny that the only place in Japan that we got kicked out of was Ebisu by a foreigner.

We took a trip down to the storage area to spot a few of our mates cars.

Always cool to see what’s parked up at Ebisu.

You’d love to know the story with some of these cars; I know some are in storage, but others probably have some cool history.

Someday I’m sure they will repurpose this stuff; in the last few years, the value on pretty much everything has spiralled out of control, and I cant see sights like this being the norm in the future.

Regardless it’s cool to see; it was a place in time when this stuff was cheap, and people could fly to Japan, buy and drift a car for a weekend and fly home storing these cars here. Eventually, the prices will make this unviable. I am jealous I would have enjoyed a taste of this stuff before things got out of hand.

Which was exactly what Alexi did with his Beercan skyline; it would have been rude not to grab a snap.

A fascinating lineup.

How cool is this little TRD MSB Nutec racer?

People store their comp cars here by the looks of it, always a fascinating trip.

We called up to Power Vehicles to look at the stuff outside; Andy has always had the best of the best at the shop, either for local sales or export.

This Friends Racing s15 was hitting the spot.

Such an awesome machine; this would be one to own.

We had a quick nosey before the sunset; it was a warm calm even with the last of daylight casting on an array of epic cars laid out at Power Vehicles.

You never know what sort of gems you are going to see here. The amount of epic machines that have passed through Power Vehicles is insane.

This Ridox front end on the Supra was hitting the spot.

Look at that for a wing!

This type X was perfect; I had seen this for sale on their site, such a simple, timeless look.

What a scene! Chasers have been proven to be one of the best chassis, and they are used way more than Silvias these days; it is good that there were many GX100’s made, so there’s plenty of donor shells.

Another show stopper hiding in the back, sitting on newer Rays 57C6’s.

This gold 14 was ticking the boxes, too; I could have spent hours here.

We got the vibe that the lads might have been a bit sketched by us cruising in after-hours, I’m not sure what the situation was, but we decided not to cause any drama, said our goodbyes and hit the road. We had a bit of a mad night planned.
