Photos Unboxed: The Nagoya Porsche
I will be the first to admit I know nothing about Porsches, which must have been evident from the recent vlog, I’ve always appreciated the shape, but it’s a rabbit hole I’ve yet to fall into. It’s the Japanese car bug that got me, and I’ve tried to fill my brain with as much knowledge on nonsense JDM machines as possible over the years.
I’m somewhat to blame for this car landing in Robs shed as I was sending links to a friend on Yahoo, and he went looking for Japan Porsche prices and ended up with this Work of art. Japan has always had its own Porsche scene, with a few popping up in the Midnight Club or shops like Promodet and RWB, building some incredible examples.
This example is oozing with style, and I was allowed to shoot a few quick photos before the Porsche was handed over. Its new owner isn’t fond of his cars on social media, and I can respect that. I love the Green writing, the car is a 78, but it almost looks brand new in my eyes. It has a Turbo look with Steel arches front and back. Its NA car is fitted with the M64 3.6L air-cooled engine.
I reckon this car has had quite a life and loved that it was now sitting on Work Brombacher wheels exclusively designed for Porsche fitment finished in black. It’s also fitted with an ATS LSD, has a roll cage, glitter back Recaro seats and a Grex shift knob. The back bumper has slits, as you would find on a Kanjo Civic or a time attack machine.
I love that Japan has always had its take on the Porsche chassis, and they’ve almost made the cars look like something homegrown. No rules or purist stuff here, just a great looking car.
It’s not something you ever really see coming into Ireland, a predominantly Japanese car-obsessed country but incredibly cool nonetheless.
I’ll leave a small spec list which was lifted from Yahoo Auctions for anyone interested here below:
