AE86 4A-GE Late Night Skids
I love unexpected nights like this, this stuff is always going on I just never want to shed too much heat onto lads who are out letting off some steam using their pride and joy. I think I’ve been documenting various lads and groups going night drifting for a long time, it’s well planned out, and low-key, the lads are out there to let off some steam usually on a dead-end road which we have been blessed to call a local area, it’s a quick burst of skids and then its time to go.
Look at the price of fuel here! For any Irish person this was a stinger, the sad thing is prices are on the rise again.
Regardless, this little selection of 4A-GE screamers was almost set and ready to go. There’s always a bit of nervous energy leading up to a night of drifting, its the rush of this being fairly illegal, these lads have families and jobs but also love these cars, their history and what these cars can give them, a little slice of freedom and a release from the daily grind.
Previous close calls!
I’m very fortunate that we still have an active scene of people doing this locally to us, as the prices on these little misery machines have tripled over the last few years, I admire anyone who can push that out of their head and just go for it.
We begin the drive out, it’s always the same buzz, lads eager for the rush, heading to the dead-end road to nowhere.
I love this shot, at the bottom bend parked up getting a feel for the place.
The port has become famous all over, so many people have come and gone and honed their craft down here.
I eagerly stood up at the middle of the green, awaiting the scream of these angry little 86s.
It’s always an absolute joy to watch these cars dance through the night, almost impossible to get a good photo as this place is almost pitch black in most areas.
A quick park up to calm the nerves, a successful release it’s time to get out of here and hit the road.
Till the next time!
