A Rare Evo IX Wagon
What more can be said about this absolute work of art? This was the longest Rob ever kept a car. The day after I posted the video, he sold it. He had it for six years, and I love how carried away he got with the build. I thought this would have been a lifer machine for Rob, but he wanted something different.
Reuben and Rob are happy to sort it out for the shoot. Im glad I did this reshoot because it will be nice to look back on in years to come.
The final form was epic; I loved those Enkei RP01 N1 wheels used in the 33 GTR N1 series. Rob wanted to go Varis and crazy on this, but I think owning it for so long, he wanted to try something different.
The fact Mitsubishi even made the Wagon Evo was epic, I wish they still made cool cars. They could have carried the wagon on into the ten or eleven; instead, the wagon died along with Mitsubishi.
That back-end shot gets me every time; I’m blessed to have good mates with ultra-cool cars to photograph. I love the little vent pieces for the arches; instead of redesigning the lights, they just came up with that solution, and it looks great!
We picked up this little keyring for Rob when we went to Japan in 2019 to match his engine.
Reuben was showing a smile from the Ganadors!
Rob has a love for carbon; he actually held back on this build. With small traces of it here or there.
Under the bonnet is the real work of art, a full Tomei Genesis engine setup; I’ve added Rob’s spec below for anyone who wants a closer look. For now, enjoy the snaps.
Rob loves a bit of Tomei; rumour has it he has Tomei Hilfiger Jeans, right that’s enough out of me. Enjoy the spec list below, which we didn’t give in the video.
Originally a GTA model converted 5speed manual.
