Photos Unboxed: Barry Fixing The Sills
I’m playing catchup, editing these photos and chucking them up on the site, but I’m enjoying the process of looking back at the progress so far. You’d miss build threads on old forums. These days it’s youtube for that sort of stuff. Regardless of the vlogs, I’ve still been snap-happy shooting as many photos as possible of the progress.
I love an excellent photo of a car, and I’ve loved shooting photos of Barry and various shed activities on this build over the last few years. Barry is a character on camera, and it’s been a blast getting him to work on the shell.
This weekend was a productive one filled with BBQs and brake cleaner accompanied by some of the very last metalwork on the shell (we’ve said that a lot)
The front sills were rotten, so both were chopped out and replaced, so Jackie could call down and finish the sealant job on the bottom of the shell.
Tidy work from Barry.
Baked!
The safety Squints
Bearing refresh on Josh’s M3 engine.
It looks like Bryan giving Josh a hard time over the engine. The look on his face is priceless.
Ah yes, the brake cleaner trick!
Barry Mac and Aidan called over in their 86s to remind us what’s to come down the road when I can finally have something to join them out on the streets.
Hard to beat that OEM look.
Less is truly more here. Nice to have a Levin coupe and a Trueno hatchback side by side.
Josh was also teased by Bryan’s 3 spoke Advans, which inevitably sent him down a rabbit hole to buy work wheels. Japanese wheels on an E30 is a tasty look.
