Photos Unboxed : A Slice of Japan at the Juicebox BBQ PT2
Let’s kick things off again with part two of last years BBQ. Like I said in the previous post, we cram as many images as we can into these articles, mainly because the quality of cars that attend the BBQ is truly incredible. We want to show as much of what made it to the event as we can. It’s always a reminder of the thriving Irish car scene.
There’s not enough decent E36’s about these days. It was nice to see one in attendance.
The overflow into the gravel was packed with quality like the scene above, three perfect examples of arguably some of the most excellent Japanese cars ever produced.
A lot of new Imports have appeared on our shores in recent times. This Mugen kitted hybrid Fit is very nice. I would happily drive this.
This little Ep70 was badass.
Damiens little EK Wagon is probably the only one of these this far away from Japan. Such a neat little Kei machine.
Can’t get enough of this T111 replica.
Hello Aidan .
The BN kit gives the FC such a serious presence.
Lain’s S15 look tough from this angle, I love the lines of the S15.
Double silver such a good combo. Enkei RPF01’s were the perfect choice for this build.
The Retro Auto Wagons.
What a combo, been a fan of this build for years, always nice to see it at the BBQ.
It was unusual to have two BN kitted FC’s at the BBQ. It’s still hard to believe this drove all the way from Scotland.
Spec R goodness.
You just don’t realise the quality of cars until they are all bundled into the same place. Ireland as a country is punching when it comes to Japanese cars.
I need to get up close with this DC2 build, its a local car and its one of the cleanest examples in the country.
Taylors Californian import Datsun truck definitely stood out from the rest.
You might remember this from the vlog, this X81 looked brand new.
One of my favourite RS2000’s.
If you removed the plates from these cars, you could be fooled into thinking this was anywhere.
One of the RCC builds. Another great car showcasing the Rocket Bunny kit.
Sarah Markey and her pristine original S13. Another car that looks literally brand new.
I love the colour on this 180sx, along with the VSXX’s and the Type X kit. A classic combo.
Hard to beat a silver Levin on SSR Dori Mesh.
Nice lineup! Three very different cars, all the same chassis.
The colours on this EG6 are awesome.
Speaking of colours, the browns on this 2 door something to behold. This is one of the coolest AE86’s out there.
Some German flavour thrown in the mix. This is a great looking Jetta sitting on pretty on BBS mesh wheels.
Pretty sure this S13 had a 1JZ.
A nice line up of starlets.
I wish we got more photos of this JZX100 MK2. The TE37’s were the perfect combination.
The brushed lips on these CR01’s give this Panda a tough look.
CP035R’s are the perfect match for an Integra.
Red is super cool on this AE111. It’s great to see one in such good condition and wearing an unusual colour.
The poor Accident. We were hoping it would drive to the BBQ but sadly she was t0o far gone. This was the last even it ever attended, she was scrapped after the BBQ.
Quality AE86’s everywhere.
Laura’s gorgeous R32 is always nice on the eyes. The Gold RG’s against that deep blue is a killer combo.
Barry’s EK4 Ferio had just been gifted a few body panels! I can almost hear the fuck offs from this image.
Another epic Levin, we really need to do a video feature on this car in the new year.
Polar opposites with the to 86’s above, but both as equally cool in their own way.
Johns 1UZ powered KE Van is such an ignorant car. I love the fact this gets well driven.
How about another shot of this beauty. Looking forward to this thing moving under its own weight very soon.
This car is daily driven, and even though these images are over a year old, I still smile when I see this car cruising around Waterford.
When everyone headed home, we used the yard to shoot each of the four cars that made the trip from across the pond. I was blown away by these cars, not only by their looks but the fact they drove from Scotland and England, boarded ferries and managed to navigate a bunch of dodgy Irish roads to get to the BBQ. If these guys can do it we have no excuses! I’ll be uploading individual features on these cars over the coming weeks.
After the BBQ, we ended up staying in the shed until all hours, talking shit and buzzing after such a solid day amongst good cars and good company. This is what its all about. Till next time
