Barry’s Skyline in the fog.
Just by pure chance after the shoot with the AE111 Levin, a fog rolled in that evening and Barry had just put the finishing touches on his freshly painted R32 Skyline. We were cooking on the BBQ and I felt it would be rude not to grab some shots of this beauty while we had such an epic background.
The black against the white spokes of the Nismo LMGT2 wheels is timeless, even in those sizes, this car looks like it could roll out of any year since 1991. It’s hard to beat those iconic tail lights.
Barry had the wheels freshly refurbished and it was a breath of fresh air to see the car with the period correct offsets. You really can’t go wrong with this look.
The fog made for an awesome quick photo session while we waited on some burgers to cook. Thankfully the camera was fully charged. Barry has been waiting for me to put these photos online for almost a year but I’m holding back on content until it ties in with a vlog.
Since shooting these pics, Barry has fully stripped the Skyline and went for a more in-depth build, GTR rear fenders and an angry RB25 heart. The car will still remain black but it really didn’t see many roads after these images. Barry is a little bit of a perfectionist and I have no doubt his second take on this car will be out of this world.
I’ll leave you with this photo I shot whilst trying to eat a burger at the same time, it’s one of my favourites. Whatever way the fog cast light on the lines of this R32, it was hard to contain the excitement. Hats off to Japan for building one of the best looking cars ever, a time when they just did their own thing and build an absolute icon. Looking forward to sharing a few updates snaps of this thing when its back on the road in the coming months.
