Plastic Surgery
You just can’t get enough of a good looking 180sx. I don’t care what anyone says but when there is a perfectly styled example in front of your eyes it brings the same amount of excitement as anything else. Over the years Ireland has robbed its fair share of these from Japan, many have been drifted, and others have been butchered, others have been stored away and others have been done like this. The ones which have been styled this good are always a treat.
I could look at this car all day, that classic BN type III aero combined with Origin over fenders; it works wonders for the RPS13 lines. A classic red finish also, this car could easily belong in an early ’00 issue of BM magazine or something similar. This look is timeless, the perfect example of a body kit that enhances the overall shape of the 180sx. The Ganador mirrors, the riveted arches…
It so enjoyable when I come across cars like this in Ireland. In an ever increasing road filled with mundane vehicles because of rising road tax, fuel costs and other nonsense parts of life seeing something with this much presence on a mundane street brings such a big smile.
The back end looks just as tough as the front, it’s one of the coolest looking silhouettes… We didn’t have enough time to find a proper location for the car, in fear of the weather turning bad we used a pretty blank backdrop, which was all this Nissan needed.
That 326 power wing is another piece of Japanese Plastic surgery which will always look right on the back of this s-chassis, along with the Kouki back lights and vented Origin wings these are all the perfect components to build a hyper but somehow subtle looking Nissan.
Under the bonnet lurk a few essential mods to help it shift, a Garrett T28 with braided lines, a front mount intercooler, a 3″ downpipe, elbow and Catback and an Exedy triple plate clutch.
Inside Sean has fitted a Bride Brix and for steering an OMP dished wheel, this car is daily driven so the interior remains practical.
Other nice little touches include a Bride gear gator, Cusco flyoff Handbrake button and a Razo gear knob.
One of nicest wheels to ever come out of Japan, or anywhere, for that matter would be the SSR Professor. The polished on red 5 spoke with a deep dish look under the BN kit is as good as it gets. Sean has gone with that delicious staggered look in some man sized offsets. Up front 17 x 9.5 +13 and at back 18 x 11 -1!
Other goodies to make this an overall enjoyable car would be a Cusco 2 way differential, Apexi Coilovers with adjustable top mounts and Skyline GTR Brakes. It’s nice to see people all over the country gathering up the right kind of parts and executing such a good looking example of one of the most iconic cars of this Japanese car enthusiast generation. Hopefully this kind of thing continues to happen throughout the country. Glad I could share this beauty with you.
