New years Driftfest at Watergrasshill
So its a new year, and weve taken a little sort of break from the website, mainly because life got a little hectic. What better way to start the new year with a bit of drift action. We trucked down towards Watergrass hill for the driftfest which has been gaining some serious steam each time this event. It makes for an exciting watch as pretty much any type of rear wheel drive car can be seen tearing it up with a driver of any skill level.
Like we said… anything could be make an appearance…
Motorfix meets Ireland!
It should buff out!
The line up ranged from the average driver who just wanted to have some slido to competitive drivers out for a practise, this mix match made for some quality entertainment.
Attack of the pink!
Always nice to see one of the only VIP machines in the country.
Nice to see someone put the effort in with the Focus. Great potential.
It was encouraging to see more cars popping up like this 200sx… clean and simple
Home made love sticker! You might remember this 2 door from such videos as the one which caused a lot of shit on youtube or maybe not!
Nice to see a mixture of vehicles.. especially for a drift event.
The BMW seems like a good cheap option to have fun.
What a tough looking E30, you may have noticed yes… we were crap and had no access to the track for shots so don’t hate on the angles!!!
Possibly one of the nicest cars VW ever made?
Speaking of nice…. aside from all the 32’s which are being raped around the country (casual joke don’t get angry) it was nice to see such a beautiful example such as this. Once again this skybus was the a perfect car demonstrating that fact the TE37 is easily one of the sexiest wheels ever made and works everytime.
Both this silver beast and the Darker Gunmetal 32 were two cars I could drool on and make a mess over all day. The work XD9’s were hitting the spot with a very tasty offset. OK enough obsessing over these cars, its pretty clear how nice they look!
Beast
In the distance you can see Ami holding it down in the bumper obstacle course in the manfoot 32
I was fooled by the sound of this 86. The f20c sounded like a 16 valve 4a-ge and went like hell.
Japman staying true to the 4a-ge, but very skilled in the art of killing SSR Mk2’s and halfshafts! What a beast
Always nice to see a 13, and a rather tasty one at. Out on the track getting the job done.
John Boost Hickey seemed to be fully used to his new drift machine keeping the car sideways pretty much all the time.
The quality Irish mild but wet winter ensured everyone had an unpredictable slippery day.
Attack!
Its good to see Watergrass hill back in the drifting world, its a small but enjoyable track, if you take out the fields and sheep and add a few Japanese dudes a cliff face and a coke machine, it could very well look like a track in Japan.
An FC on 33GTR wheels? Looks very cool, there’s just not enough of these around any more.
Ross’s EF9 look as awesome as ever!
The drift trains were non stop all day.
Even though most of Ireland will be in Australia soon, its nice to see drifting is still going strong! Watergrass hill and places like it are much needed to keep this madness alive, its shame that Ireland has only Mondello as a track and Watergrass Hill whenever the mood suits them. At least every second young person is interested in cars and it makes zero sense for this country to have such a limited amount of places for people to race/drift. Its a story the car scene has been preaching forever, maybe someday it will be answered… Aside from that mini rant hopefully we will see you at the next Drift fest and maybe have some super cool angles from the track.
Stay tuned for a collection of updates coming sooner then you think!
