Event: Tullow Drag Days: 17/7/11
I hate to open a post with a picture of rain, but I guess that’s just apart of our culture in Ireland, rain creeps into pretty much any interest or outdoor social event. Its always bound to creep up on you when you least expect it or want it. We decided to make the trip up to Tullow, a place where many of you know by now you can pay to drag race to your hearts content all day till you run out of fuel or maybe something else. We ended up missing Prodrift and Enniskillen due to some unforeseen circumstances, but that’s what happens.
Whilst inside one of the massive grain sheds at the yard, we took a peek around at some of the cars which ran from the weather! This ae111 was sitting pretty damn low on some Enkei RP01’s.
Behind the 111 was this amazing looking ae101 sprinter with an awesome front splitter.
Check the lurking Brembo’s!
Best trailer car! Pulling home a twin engined ep90 series starlet!
This civic looked pretty good in that colour with those live sport skirts, something you don’t see too often and funnily enough the red wheels Remind me of this.
Holy shit! A set of Hayashi bomber’s. Now there’s a set of rare wheels!
Damn there’s just something so right about this 95/96 spec DC2 with a bug eye font end. Clean and simple.
It wouldn’t be drag racing in Ireland without the sound of a Honda. True story.
Further lurking down in the car park area we spotted this DA that was at the old school meet a few weeks back.
Peep this clean Del-sol sitting on a rare set of Wedsport Kurage wheels. So good.
Gotta love Black racing/Watanabe’s on FWD cars also. This EK looks great chilling on a set of classic 8 spoke’s.
This Familia gets top marks for being original and clean! The bronze Work RSB’s and the red lug nuts on the classic black and red stripe is definitely winning.
If mad max drove a starlet!
This Mugen 1st gen dc2 spoiler can look good.
Cant go wrong with a clean sir on Enkei type S with the anodized red lip. Less is more.
Run what your bring, this d series Vtec lump was sitting in a hotrod starlet.
A midnight club charity run was ending in Caseys yard which brought a nice crowd to the day and a collection of interesting cars.
Back inside the shed it was for a second lurk at what had shown up. The jzx81 is such a badass car, was very surprised to see one make an appearance, not a familiar site amongst the car scene.
Next to the 81 was this Jzx100 mk2. Everything about this car looked good, from the wings or the kit to the rear fat sexy Work VS-KF wheels sitting under some nice arch work.
A Drift Matsuri looking GTS-T with some evolution intensive hunk wheels up front. Say that shit three times!
Greeeeeen BBS meshes on a low e36 sitting amongst the Jap metal.
Check this ER33, you don’t see a whole lot of these. This one was sporting a kit and a gtrlooking front end. It would actually be even better if it had the Moar low thing going on with those Enkei NT03 wheels.
A lurk inside the 33 you can see a very rare garage Impul steering wheel.
Accompanying the wheel was a set of Garage Impul seats. Damn this 33 was packing some goodies. Wonder what else there was to find inside!
Back outside the racing was more varied. Two yellow S- chassis head down the straight.
Back inside we spotted this very Japanese looking Levin. Cant go wrong with XR4’s ever.
Speaking of Longchamps, these XR4’s look so good under this s14. Reminds me of the team bursts s13.
Not enough clean 180sx’s around any more. It was nice to see this one.
Was very surprised to see not one but two VZR N1 Pulsars on the day.
This one outside looked stupidly clean.
Throughout the day everything and anything that showed up went head to head.
That was until the sky started to cry, and this time it lasted for much longer. You have to love the quality Irish summers! Funnily enough it was supposed to be the 17th of July. Till next time…
