After an exciting night in Osaka with Rob and his friends, we ventured out to the wilderness to meet with an old friend, Alex from Circuit Soul. He had moved to the countryside outside of Osaka, and we would get breakfast with him and head to the central circuit as we had never been.
It would have been rude not to pull this out of the lad’s shed for a close-up, the killer with the trip to Paul and friends is the fact they had so many good-looking cars. I could have spent the week up there shooting everything. Regardless, I loved everything about this ek4, the colour, the OEM bits the wheels, everything worked perfectly. Enjoy these few up-close photos from that day of a very well-executed EK4 Civic SIR.
A sad day for Juicebox! I sold the EK4 Civic and explained, with updates on Merch and what’s coming up on the channel.
After already having the craziest day ever, we were keen to meet up with our new friend we had met online over the coming months leading up to our trip. He had organized a meeting with the local up and coming Honda enthusiasts who frequent the loop in Osaka.
We hit the racetrack in the K11 daily driver March and go for another run in the Civic. The guys at Trackdays.ie were nice enough to invite us to another day out so we couldn’t resist. Barry calls down to finish Adrians Carina and we sort some coils for the 4A-GE.
We get take a closer look and strip the EK4 Civic only to find some fantastic surprise rust and dampness. Reuben drives his old Civic through a fire…
I didn’t want to miss this event. Last year Flip made the drive up and any of the photos I had seen from the day were amazing. The days of seeing Hondas out in the open have quickly disappeared. It seems the bad image the Honda had just over four years ago has vanished.
As most of us tend to stay in our circles amongst the scene, a lot of cars never really come out of hiding for us to be exposed to here at Juicebox. This little B series is stunning.
A lot of people made it down regardless of situations that sprang up which either on the day or close to it. Somehow the weather was on our sides which enticed people to make the journey down. I genuinely would not have held the event if there was a monsoon of Irish rain.
Where to begin really? This whole thing started as an idea few weeks back, well a concrete idea that is. This plan literally fell into place in less than ten days.
Ive Known Barry and his EK4 for a good while. Barry has owned this car since it came into Ireland just over six years ago as a relatively clean standard enough EK4 SIR. It has been amazing to watch this car develop over the years into its most recent incarnation that we have here today. Just as we were talking about a while ago, this car landed in Ireland and the owner stuck with it over the year. The car was a perfect way for Barry to learn new skills and try different things out over time to achieve his idea of what a civic should be.
Looks like the guys in England have got some cool Honda shit going on. Some are meshing Euro and Jap, which seems to work!
Just a snap i found of Dunnes delicious eg and a shot i did recently of his ek4. Hopefully he starts moving with his plans on the ek.
