The Gap x S2k

Always been a massive fan of these cars, at the Rally of the lakes earlier in the year, at a look out over some of the best scenery in Ireland we spotted this freshly coated white example and decided to take a few snaps…..

Car Spotting: Sentimental Evolution

I know there is many of you out there, many who have had the first car, the one that got them into the scene, the one that you pulled late night for and yo somehow feel is a part of who you are.

Car Spotting: The Coolest Run around?

When most people think of a run around car, especially in the Irish car scene they wind up purchasing something cheap and efficient, something that gets them from A to B that little bit cheaper whilst the pride and joy parked up. When I found out this AE92 was a run about I was shocked.

Car Spotting: Number 189

I recently had the pleasure of checking out number 189. I’m sure many of you are well acquainted with the Tommi Mäkinen EVO 6 or 6.5 as its often referred to. The car is named after the Finnish World rally driver after he took four driver championships in a row, Its always been a cool thing when a large car company comes out with a model like this with that extra special feeling of exclusivity creating a collectors item almost isntantly.

Car Spotting: Who’s the Rarest of them all?

This Pheonix Yellow 98 Spec DC2 has been around for a few years now, a daily driven car which has been kept more or less standard. Many of you will know just how incredibly rare a Genuine Yellow DC2 is, and more of you will also know just how rare the yellow Recaro’s from factory in this yellow beauty are. The entire car has remained intact since 1999.

Car Spotting: Robs Mk2

The Mk2 Golf has always been a true favourite amongst car lovers, in the last few years they have become quite scarce site and even quite a few that are left are either a mint GTI something in between or a standard clean example. Rob decided to build this MK2 on a budget, attending college and trying to build any sort of car is definitely not an easy task. Truth being his budget was pretty limited but that didn’t stop him from using his head and turning out an awesome result.

Car spotting: More like this!

I have to admit, this car is eye catching. The Irish car scene is changing and has been for the last few years, some people will argue that we are years behind the Japanese and the American’s and others will argue against it, because plenty of times cars have popped up around the country that could easily be on par with similar cars around the world. At the end of the day the scene itself will always be filled with mixed emotions on what’s hot and what’s not. What I like about this car is the fact its part of this whole new generation of “JDM” of “OEM” styling. Its like the scene had to get completely crazy with all the insane body kits and coloured interiors, insane ICE installs and 19 inch rims and then someone hit the reset button and it all went back to zero.

Box shaped love: The EP71 Turbo

The starlet has always been known for a reliable little run around. The 70 series like the silver model pictured above has been well established as a cheap A to B run around and a nice little car to use for Auto testing and hot rodding. In the last few years we have seen the love for these little starlets grow more and more.  One of the reasons would be the fact they are cheap for the younger generation to insure and they are starting to get rare. The cars can be seen on websites like donedeal and similar and in some cases people can look for up to 2000 euros for them!

Car Spotting: Bug Eye Love

A car that gets little love in Ireland is the Bug eye Integra, many have shunned the car or spend money like the Americans on conversion’s . It seems four eyes lurk in the shadown of the famous brother.

Car Spotting: The Daily bB

For anyone who is staring at the screen and wondering what the hell is going on, allow me to explain. This is a 2002 Toyota bB. The car is based on the Yaris/Vitz chassis and was targeted at the younger generation in their early to late 20’s. These cars are hugely popular in Japan as the bB and in the US where it went under the name of the Scion xB. For anyone who has wondered why these are so insanely popular, we’ve also asked the same question every time one appears on the internet. In America where these little crazy box shaped Toyota’s have a huge following, people could easily pour thousands of dollars into an xB/bB to create their perfect vision.

Car Spotting: Different strokes

I remember seeing this car at Japfest this year and it just stood out. It wasn’t because the car was rocking some super amazing mods or anything like that but the way it had been put together just worked.

Garage Life: The little Hachi that could…

This Hachiroku was undoubtedly one of the most well known in this country. The car just had that vibe which made it stand out. It looked so fresh for its age. Being 27 years old the car didnt look one year of it. With its fresh coat of metallic red over black and some shiny work equips with some insane dish on the rear, this car oozed everything an ae86 should carry.

Car spotting> Enda’s eg9 ferio

Just got to take some snaps today of Enda’s eg9 ferio, alot of work has gone into this car and there will definitely be alot more to come on this car real soon. These are becoming a scarce enough car and its nice to see someone with much love for one.
The yellow and black colourway throughout the car is a real winner, its different which is hard to come by on these cars. The rota auto x fit the car so good. The only bad side was the weather which was really against us on this one so expect more to come soon on this car . Good job on the ferio man, there such a nice car.
