Modified Live 2013

We decided to try and make it to the first event on the car calendar this year… round one of the IDC and Modified Live… Mondello’s own idea of a car show that to say the least looked like a bare version of Japfest… Even saying that a few unusual beasts made an appearance that more or less made the trip worth it.

Peep the vinyl covering on this estate… snake skin madness…

So nice to see this JZX100 still around and in such a nice condition…

You may remember this car from a past feature… never get tired of looking at it.. and the owner fitted a chrome strip to the front bumper!

This is everything a 180sx should be… this car is too good! Hopefully we can get a feature going soon…

Pretty tasty JZX90 with a black on chrome attire..

So good to see this stunner back on the scene… I honestly thought this would never surface again… cant wait to see it getting some love and a new front bumper… such a good car…

The drift Ireland collection in the corner made the visit worthwhile… lots of tasty rwd gems like this stunner of a Meister wearing Chaser…

This type S aero 15 is going places… awesome!

Ah the simplicity…. the 13 is such an such a delicious chassis… its a shame they pretty much vanished!

The tough look of this Zenki 14… another nice machine that made the trip worth while.

Ireland has turned into a sea of VAG machines… more of them should look like this,  a monster sticker and a black roof doesn’t count… this was very nice indeed, take note!

Another enjoyable looking Volkswagen, this time a mk5 with pink detailing.

This is too good!

This civic has gotten quite the love on the internet… in real life it holds the same appeal…  Nice to see a coupe getting love.

With the internet always giving us pictures of the BNR34… everytime you see one in real life you understand very quickly just how incredible this machine really is.. The presence is immense… The fat NT03’s are also enjoyable.. what a car!

A couple of heavy hitters were all parked side by side… this simple but very Japanese looking Jza80 chilling on modest Volk challenge f zero’s.

This was also amazing… best OEM wheel ever made.. they look good on everything except the 33 (jokes).. the skyline plate reminded me of GT for some reason..

To our surprise there was quite a few very tasty Fords in attendance… a complete contrast to some of the more sketchy looking modified cars these were insane…

I can never get over the standard of some Fords.. its amazing. The cars are in hiding for most of the year aswell which adds to the mystery…

Any chance to see an RNN14 these days is a good one… this particular one was tasty aside from the mental sunvisor.. but the white on white 5zigen fn01r combo was very nice.

Ive always been a massive fan of the Ings kit for the DC5… these cars came into the country mostly stock exterior wise… this example had a nice collection of exterior goodies including the racing hart cp-035r’s and silver finish…

Bug eye four door with goodies.. this looked like it has a story to tell…

Nice to see people try something different with a GD chassis… this one was rocking Luminous BLQ’s…

Speaking of the lesser travelled path with cars here in Ireland this RX8 was catching everyone’s eye….

This EP91 has been a fave for some time also… the build quality is top notch.

This was a pretty interesting take on a Ferio.

Nice to see people starting to play with the newer lexus models… this has to be one of the nicest designed cars to come out of Japan in recent years…

No words for this… simply timeless perfection.

I didn’t stick around too long to get snaps of the time attack cars, but here is a quick shot of Tom from Mad Racings EK track machine.

Dunnes freshly built EK3 was in attendance looking good..

This was actually pretty cool asides from the interfooler…

Gangster boogie… this colour was insane..

Ill finish up on this blue DC2. The miss matched nto03’s and type C’s at the rear was a complete winner… there is something so right about dirty white wheels on a Honda hahaha…. Ill leave it there for today.. check back for some drift coverage very soon!
