Meet: Honda Meet @ Midway court

So last sunday brought another Honda meet up in Portlaoise in the carpark at Midway court, the good thing about Midway court is it has a subway and is very central for everyone from all different counties to make the trip. I know your wondering about the picture above also, we managed to get stuck in a High nellie world record on the way up, which was extremely amusing to say the least.I really had no idea there was that many High nellie’s left not to mention useable! I’m sure they bet the record as there really wouldnt be any comparison!

There is no denying that Ireland has a massive Honda scene, the Honda is by far the most popular choice for people into cars in Ireland, and this cannot be ignored as its everywhere both good and bad. Thankfully we like to cover these meets as most of the people who show the face usually drive a Honda which looks good. Like this super clean DC2, I guess if you cant get the Mugen MF10’s when a clean set of rotas get the job done as you can see here.

Taking it back to the 90’s with TSW stealth’s. These were the shit back in the day!

Quite alot of EG’s are still going strong, most of the ones that came for a hello were awesome. This immaculate looking EG6 was getting the job done on snow white P1’s.

This was another one that was getting the attention. Super clean and simple on Regamaster’s how could you loose?

Definitely feeling this stealthy looking EG.

Its good to see the EG get as much love as this from the Honda communit, they are ageing very nicely but underneath many of these little beauties are starting to rust, especially with our lovely climate and now that the roads have started to be salted in the last year or so…. lets hope they are maintained over the years!

Some of the four door’s were looking the gizzness also. Nice clean and subtle, you can really see how the scene has certainly changed for the better over the last few years.

This coupe was looking super fresh, such a nice colour on these Civics.

Another tasty coupe on purple CRKai’s.

Serious brownie points for the colour, a lip some bronze wheels and this is going to a better place!

3spokes! The acquired taste!

This Ferio is filled with goodness, the Mugen touches are awesome.

Speaking of Mugen, this cl1 is filled with Mugen goodies. One of the finest in the country.

Parked next to another one of Ireland’s finest CL’s.

The Back DC2, there needs to be more of these.

Standard DA goodness, I’m sure its not very often you come across an XSI in this condition.

This almost looks american!

The fact this car isnt a show queen adds cool points. Such a nice example of how an EF8 should  be, the used look is sometimes that bit more interesting.

Holy Vinyl wrap madness Batman!

I was surprised with the lack of EF’s this time around…. THis made up for the lack of the “box shaped” civic.

And so did this, what a perfect example of what an EF9 should look like, such a beautiful timeless look.

The RPf01’s come in close after the TE37 as one of the best looking wheels ever made…. ever.

Sometimes you wish that just a little more variety would make an appearance, like the beautiful looking CL7, this chassis oozes with potential.

The wagon, you just have to enjoy them. Glad this beast is not rocking supershites any more and I know the owner was expecting me to say that ahahaha!

A touch of Bozo up front. We need more of these on the roads in the hands of the right people. If you done believe me have a little google search and see what I mean.

Meanwhile in subway…

This looked strikingly familiar, but in a good way.

Teejay killed his Honda, so he showed his support in the early 90’s missile spec 32.

Showing some love for a bad website on the door.

Another Nissan came for a browse also and not a bad one a that!

As for the EK’s, there was quite a nice collection of them also. Check this evil looking civic rocking that Love/hate Mugen grill and actually making it look good regardless of peoples taste.

Ahh the Enkei RS, such a good looking wheel on any Honda.

Its cool to see people hunt out Genuine wheels, the country is flooeded with them and there all probably lurking in sheds, this EK is on to a winner choosing a set of not so raped Wedssport TC005. Good stuff.

Double overhead camshaft Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control arm.

The next time your at Midway, get one of these comical little things out of the Toilets.

Simple stick your finger in…..

And finger the fuck out of your teeth, I’m almost sure this will catch on!

So simple and standard looking, yet so so good.

Blue with white Buddy clubs seems to be a popular look. It does look good in most cases though.

Barry’s EK9 is exactly how an EK9 should look, and how about that Japanese flavour on the Euro Jordan civic?

Or a touch of Euro on  JDM EG9?

The spoon look. An iconic style that will stand the test of time when it comes to how an EK9 should look.

JDM goodness at its finest, this EK4 is packed with all the optional Modulo goodies from factory.

Ive always had a soft spot for this car, a friend used to own it a few years back and I’m glad to see it looks as good as ever, the RS wheels never looked so good on an EG6, this is just one of those perfect looking Civic SIR’s.

This was easily one of the best looking cars at the meet. Glad its now wearing the always amazing TE37 wheel. This is one of the best looking DC2’s in the country.

Yes please.

Omer and Josie doing the stare from Jackie’s EG, a car that gers better looking every day.

As the sun started to set, everyone made their way home. I caught another snap of this EG9 because schmidt Modern lines do look good on a Ferio with 50/50 back lights.

As the sun was setting I took a last snap of this standard looking DC2, even in stock form this DC2 is very appealing. You have to admire a company that has brought out so many impressive good looking great handling cars over the last 20 years that were both super reliable and incredibly fun to drive. From the B series to the K series and yes the H series and not forgetting the F series and you know the rest. It’s kind of sad that Honda has started to discontinue most of its already iconic models, like the Type or, or the SIR. Honda’s have already become a fond chapter that the car world won’t be forgetting anytime in the near future.

Maybe this is the reason they continue to be so popular?
