Event: Japfest Mondello 2010 PT2 - Juiceboxforyou

Event: Japfest Mondello 2010 PT2

Lets continue where we stopped with part 1, looking at some super nice examples of some of the countries nicest ae86’s.

Wide Watanabes + AE86 = ultimate winner.

Lovely clean Zenki grilled hachi.

This one was particularly cool, very different i guess with the carbon wings on the orange, and this would also be a proper example of where green wheels are good, it works perfectly well on the SSR Reverse mesh with a polished lip. Nicky in the background is throwing some lurker eyes at me!

XR4’s are always at home under the arches of a Trueno. What a nice car.

Like I said before, I love this car. It was great to see some proper hachi’s on display instead of the typical paddi spec.

Loving the red mk2’s on this one.

Toda Power!

All I could say was wow, this was so damn nice and looked aggressive with the zenki grill and black Compomotive ML’s.

Meister’s are arguably one of the nicest wheels on the planet.

Like I said before, the line-up of hachi’s was nothing short of proper, nice to see some variation and some originality in them.

Matt black is always going to be cool.

Especially when its wrapping an RE Amemiya arched FD3S sitting on bronze TE37’s.

There was a couple of charminters on the scene also, like this gold one rocking some reverse mesh’s.

And Jerry’s old blue beast.

Which ended up taking a nice oul slap out on the drift session, that probably wont buff out. Especially with those custom front arches from a starlet. Hopefully it gets sorted because this is one cool car.

Speaking of slaps, Will brought up his delicious Altezza. He also decided to spray the wheels pink,  it looks damn good if you ask me.

But he also enjoyed some slam action into some tires out at the drift session. All in good fun I guess! Itl buff out haha.

Another clean MK3 Jetta getting some love.

A fine example of an EF9 chilling one some Enkei RPF01’s.

I still don’t know if im the biggest fan of the mugen front bumper for the DC2. I guess it can work. Its really a love hate thing.

Super clean 98 spec DC2.

No surprise who owns this work of art engine bay, I couldn’t even get a decent shot because the car was attracting too much attention!

Yes

Yes

And more yes, this Nissan President was by far one of the best cars at the show, talk about VIP!!

There was definitely something cool about this 4G. I just liked how different it was to the usual ones, especially with that stance and that nice big intercooler up front.

Haha epic.

Cheesestring anyone? New tyre flavour.

This JZX81 MK2 was abit of a badass drift slut.

Unusual to see an RX8 with some stuff, but it was cool.

Stance is good.

Love this s-chassis, the SP1’s are a perfect match.

Who could hate on a four door? When they look this good its impossible. What a nice car.

Rough and ready s14.

The Gram Light 57d’s look very nice on Christy Carpenter’s S15. The car just looks like it could belong at any drift event around the globe.

Same can be said for Deane’s SR20 powered FD3’s

This instantly reminded me of this. Get that shit on the floor! Its all it needs to be amazing.

I guess its Jap, and its Japfest right?

This BNR32 is possibly one of the nicest cars in the country, sitting proud on those BBS LM’s

Speaking of GTR’s this one was by far the most insane cars at the show, and not for being an individual or being different, but for being straight up one of the most expensive and most serious cars at the show or even in Ireland.

This car was just pure JDM pimpness. I know that sounds gay but its the only way to describe how insane this car really is, The Nismo LMgt4’s fetch a nice $1300 each in some places. A set even on Yahoo auctions comes to about 3 grand, and that’s just the wheels, let alone the fact its a Nuremberg spec GTR.

Under the bonnet the car has a serious amount of incredible parts going on, for example the HKS Vcam setup which has been installed or the carbon covered RB26 engine, or how about the sought after Garage defend cooling panel.. I could go on.. but I’m sure this picture can do some justice.

Its even got its own collection of trophies! I wonder why….

At the other end of the spectrum, the JZA80 is always going to look stunning wrapped in TRD aero, and wearing some volk GTC’s.

The rear of this JZX100 was hitting the spot, sitting comfortably on some Volk gold and polished gtc’s. Nice.

Some fresh tires had been added to Damien Mulvey’s ps13, ready to be smoked off.

Alot of people prefer the MK1 rear end on the JZX90’s but I must say that the MK2 rears can hold an equal appeal, especially here for example.

At every show, this RX-3 gets serious attention. It has to be one of the coolest cars in the country, easily.

Its nice to see that Roadsters are getting the love they deserve, such an awesome little car when they are done right, like this example above.

Eric O Sullivan’s E30 seems to be abit of a sleeper. Its nice and simple, rocking some steelies and then……

Bang…Looks like an M50B25 under the hood, but I could be wrong, either way this thing must be very fun to drive.

While we are on the subject of BMW’s John Paul McCarthy’s E36 is an animal on the track, and has the looks to match.

And while I keep talking like a moron, check these two green tasty s-chassis siting next to the yellow Bimmers.

Nigel Colfer’s RPS13 is definitely one of the coolest cars on the track.

Battle scars!!!

The Hankook stand was representing the AE86 with Alan Sinnott’s SR86.

Eric O Sullivan had his Hachi back out for the weekend, rocking the NA F20 engine. What a cool car.

27 years on and these cars still look as cool as the day the rolled out of the factory. Its great to see that they are still competing in events and winning all around the world even after all these years. Hooray for the Hachi-Roku! (Yeah that was gay, but its true)

This crazy contraption came out on the track for awhile, and then some drag racing started to take shape.

Pulsar V Pulsar.

This is a site to enjoy, an RNN14 destroying a brand new MW e90 m3. I guess this is why drag racing is so popular.

There wasn’t as many drag racing this year which was kind of surprising, maybe everyone is holding off for Enniskillen.

Sometimes people can be surprised by what can actually beat what, its cool to see a little EG attack a Z32 down the straight.

Another funny sight, watching an ep71 attacking the Z32 down the straight.

Martin Tracey was unstoppable in his CN9A IV, running late 8″s down the straight. What a car to shift.
Thank God the weather held out for the day, otherwise it would have been a repeat of last years fun. It was a proper shit that D-Mac’s R32 was stolen along with another other cars the night before the event. People like that should be burned at the stake for taking peoples hard earned work and fucking it up like that. But other then that everything else seemed to be ok on the weekend. Sorry for not getting around to anyone we promised to, and for not covering the time attack, it was hard to get everything crammed in! Same for the drift jam coverage and whatever else we missed.
Stay tuned for the Prodrift coverage coming real soooonnn….!!!!!
