What the Fuck Wednesday: The Tramore Time capsule

Its crazy to think that this was the norm just up to about 6 years ago. Everyone wanted this paint and an interior that matched. I think many of you will agree that the scene has changed for  the better, but its always nice to see where things went bad, and this is a fine example of just that. Best of all its in a very clean condition which is rare as most of these “show beasts” from back in the day are either wrecked or on the way. You can see that wretched interior just lurking out through the door. Its amazing. Or how is was a great choice to those skirts to the car.

Taking it to the front, things just get that little bit worse, its not as extreme as some stuff you may have seen around, but its just about up there with that grill and those chrome lights, and that amazing green dash with a mounted, what it looks like an “aftermarket” rev counter haha.

Back in the day it really was about all show and no go with many people, the drums which are still on this beast, could have easily been replaced for some discs for the price it cost for that back bumper, or the tasty green interior. Its amazing.

The rear is pretty much the icing on the cake. That quad exhaust tip setup is disgraceful. I really always wondered why people spent fucking forever filling the boot to relocate the plate to the bottom, its pointless. So is that yoke of a wing and those Alien looking light that look like something out of war of the worlds. Good stuff. The car could have easily been as nice looking like this, this or even this and still would have been good today.

Hopefully we wont be too hateful, id imagine if a car is clean and simple looking or has a decent appearance and proper parts, it will end up looking good for a long long time, and usually when I find some images of a car as an example, its usually about a 6-7 year old picture. If you look at old race cars, or the type of styling the Japanese did to there classics and drift cars in the late 80’s and early nineteens, that type of look seems to never go out of fashion. Same for the Hot rod scene in the states, when they build a super clean car, that’s either slammed or has just been made nice and simple with subtle modifications, its going to look good for decades to come. Its usually things like this civic that get old very quickly.
